Disclaimer! I am not saying that any of these artists are bad because they are underrated I simply believe they deserve a stronger following based on their raw talent and artistry.
Mikalya is a makeup artist I discovered on tik tok this year. After her first video went viral she has since gained a strong following of 4.4 million followers on tik tok but only 802K on instagram. Her fabulous no filter personality mixed with her extreme talent, body positivity and confidence are just a few reasons why I fell in love with her. She is not afraid to tell you if a product is amazing or simply no good and will always put her fans first. Her interaction with fans on tik tok is incredible. She answers questions thoroughly and gives incredible advice, while uploading frequently. I advise a lot of beginners or young girls should to follow her account. She is overall an amazing person and I have absolutely nothing bad so say.
Natasha is a UK influencer I found while scrolling through the massive world of tik tok. With 784.2K followers on tik tok and 48.6K followers on instagram Wood has definitely made a name for herself. From incredibly detailed full face art to horrific monster SFX looks even to simplistic and fun donut freckles Wood is someone who has undeniable natural talent. I instantly fell in love with her authentic creativity and use of artistry. I discovered her first through a series on her tik tok account where she recreated looks from famous horror and fantasy films. She is a prosthetic master and, though has had some challenges, she never fails to bring it! She is also great at answering questions and recommending good products. She definitely knows what she is doing and has the proper training for it.
Ellinor is another European Creator that I discovered why looking for SFX tutorials on youtube. With 1.04M subscribers on youtube and only 316K on instagram Rosander is the person you want, no need to follow if you are interested in SFX. Her tutorials on youtube range from giant incredible characters that we all know and love to simple prosthetic making and tips. She is not afraid to go big and bold and encourages others to do the same. Her tutorials start out with letting the viewer know prep time, application time, costs of materials and a level of difficulty that will be required for the specific look. She even own her own company where she sells ellimorph plastic to use to mold for all SFX looks. She has worked on films such as the 2015 film Sensoria and the 2016 movie Origin as well as winning the first ever Nordic Face award in 2016.
